CONVERSATION  ENCOUNTERS

Forward

The conversations are open encounters in which DORa Project extends its activities beyond teaching and offers a place to meet and discuss psychoanalysis in its various relations to contemporary issues. Tu peux savoir /You can know, as the 2002 title of one of the study days of the School of the Freudian Cause (ECF) announced. Any person who wishes to know more about psychoanalysis, its challenges and response to some local and global trends, is invited to take part in these conversations.

Psychoanalysis in the city

The Americans have a lucid relation with the object a (J.A. Miller, Comdatuba). This is felt in the title of the TV series "Sex in the City". In it, there is an endless conversation about sex and everybody is engaged in sex all the time. The clue, however, is clear. There is no sexual relation, it is not possible to successfully formulate the relationship between the sexes and it becomes clearer when everybody uses sex as a language supposedly understood by all.

Psychoanalysis in the city is a program of conversation encounters in the city Tel-Aviv. In this sense it is an American-Israeli title. Tel-Aviv, the city that never stops, that incessantly re invents itself   is   the field for a conversation that will turn around the Freudian Thing.

The encounters are designed to approach the psy professionals in Israel, students from the university and other study programs and the general public. The event is published in newspapers and usually includes a focused lecture on a topic of wide contemporary   interest and implication and then, an open discussion.

24.2. 07   Conversation about   Anorexia - Clinic and Treatment
The program includes a lecture by Carole Dewambrechies-La Sagna, psychoanalyst, A.M.E,

member of the NLS and ECF followed by a response from Sivana Phenig, Psychiatrist head of the Children Department of  Shneider Hospital, expert in Eating Disorders.

Reading Lacan in Hebrew word by word

These conversations are also open to the public and are dedicated to Lacan's texts from the seminars and  Écrits,  that were translated to Hebrew. The conversation is sometimes about a paragraph, a sentence and even one word. The effort of passing through languages is sometimes an encounter with a discovery.  Hebrew, especially, creates a challenge for any translator of Lacan and thus the opportunity to unveil new dimensions of the text.

The School - Logic and Events
